New fun parks bring joy and happiness to both adults and children alike
Children in several rural communities in the three southernmost border provinces have recently been given a rare special treat that make them happy and laugh merrily – thanks to Innoworld Education Company.
Against the backdrop of bombs and gunshots which occur on almost daily basis, it was quite a rare but impressive sight when adults in rural communities actively joined hands to install colourful slides and seesaw boards in animal shapes as children watched in excitement.
Even with just a few fun equipments for each community, the small fun parks are a dream come true for many children in the Deep South who are more familiar with violence. The smiles on their faces and the nonstop giggles and laughters as they enjoy with their new toys can sum up how they feel about this special treat.
Mrs Korlee Hama, a resident of Kok Pho district of Pattani, said that all her nine children went straight to the fun park since the morning ever since it was built. She added that some days she had to prepare lunch boxes for them because they wouldn’t come home for lunch.
Seventeen sets of fun park equipments were presented to the Southern Border Provinces Administration Centre by Innoworld Education Company on May 6. They were then distributed to selected communities where there were high concentration of orphans as top priority. A ceremony for the presentation of the equipments to community representatives was held at Kok Pho district office chaired by SBPAC secretary-general Panu Uthairat and deputy governors of Pattani, Narathiwat and Yala provinces.
A smiling orphan by the name of Fadia said it was a life-time opportunity for the orphans to be given such fantastic present.
Another youngster said that he would not have to convince his parents to take him to town to play in the fun park now that their community has its own fun park.
Even the adults were happy and excited. They said that the fun toys were different from those they had seen elsewhere – which were made of steel and painted.
Mr Nihadit Hayeemayee, a resident of Ban Korlorkawae in Si Sakhon district of Narathiwat, said that the fun parks would be meeting grounds for both adults, teenagers and children to meet and chit chat which should be good for the communities.
Mrs Watcharaporn Prachamorn, an executive of Innoworld Education Company, admitted that she was happy that the children were delighted with the new toys. She assured that all the equipments were safe and up to European standard.
She also hopes that the fun parks will help ease the tensions and sufferings of the people in the Deep South more or less.
